The doctors aren't idiots at all. I never suggested or implied that.
They report it as they are supposed to, because they understand that they need to report if there is a possibility that the reaction is caused by it.

They understand however, that a possible caused does not mean it is definitely caused by that. They report it so that people can assess the statistics between particular reactions and medications and use that to determine correlation.
There will always be countless false reports, not by any fault of the doctors reporting, just by the nature of how the reporting works. Its the overall trends and probabilities that certain reactions and medications are linked that Data scientists and statisticians will assess.
