Yes that is the patent. I think james thomson lodged it. It has taken this long to refine to current state. Does not mean it is outdated. Wise to lodge asap rather than wait to it is refined. Management talked to fda ( see latest announcements) and are confident of a trial start next year. If they were not why hire anyone to run it? I suggest you talk to management if you have any concerns on the patent or meeting the fda requirements.
