Any month where total unemployment doesn't increase would be welcome by Labor and any rational people. The problem for the coalition is that redundancies etc don't occur overnight. As they come into force in the coming months then unemployment will trend up. While 47000 jobs have been created it means that the equivalent of about 47000 have also been lost as unemployment is steady at 6%.
The forecasts for the medium future all point to unemployment rising. February was expected to hold.
