I would not deny that limos can be good values if used with common sense.
Last time I was in Syd I was picked up by an aussie driver in an immaculate Fairlane. He knew his job and he knew his way around. He explained that he doesn't work off ranks much because he is normally heavily booked by "regulars". There would be a booking fee which would [and I'm guessing] put him in line with a limo.
I would have no objection to Slipper using such a service when on business. But the criminal accusation is fraud, not waste and there is a world of difference. An $85 cabcharge of his showed up in Townsville, a city he has never visited. TVL airport is in the suburbs so a taxi fare to any hotel would have been a qtr of that at most if he had done so. [The brothels are almost within walking distance]
Gillard's assumption that it will be cleared up in a week or two is wishful thinking. He's toast.
