Ling Maw is their main revenue for now. And the powdered ling maw product which they claim was developed early in the year doesn't appear to be available for sale anywhere. I thought someone else here might have been more successful with their search.
To clarify a few points re Fish Quota. There is no quota for ling maw. Only ling fish. Maw is a byproduct. Owning quota which is leased to commercial fishers would allow some form of control over supply...however, from my research it appears quota are a fairly tightly held commodity.
20% of all fish quota is reserved for ownership by Maori.
A further 23% of all fish quota is held by Sanford, NZ's largest fishing company.
Total allowable commercial Ling Fish catch for 19/20 was 24,249 tonne
Actual catch for the previous year was 16,742 tonne
Wet weight of swim bladder is on average .75% of total fish weight. So based on actual catch in 18/19, if every single swim bladder
was harvested that gives an estimated total yield of 125,000 kg. NZCS state they have a supply contract for 100,000 kg and they will be processing further product for their dried and powdered products.
Moisture content of swim bladder is approximately 70%, so for each 1kg of frozen product you are left with 300g of dried product.
So if you dried the remaining 25,000 kg you would have 7500 kg of product.
A google search will bring up several other suppliers of ling maw in NZ
And just to once again clarify for anyone confused around whether New Zealand Coastal Seafoods have any direct involvement in the NZ fisheries

I have so far seen no comment from NZCS on where they will be securing their supply from, or what expertise they will be relying on for production.
This also relates to other forms of dried 'Nutraceutical' seafood products they intend to expand into.
