I've been reading a variation of the same story for 5 years on hotcopper. Do you really think these asx listed companies would even bother looking at Zinbarbwe and the like if it presented an issue.
No point in putting the spotlight on Zimbabwe. There is corruption everywhere in the world, including Australia. All you need is 2 ingredients. Human beings and money. Zimbabwe has very good reason to promote and encourage Australian Companies to develop mines in their country.

an excerpt: "Zimbabwe’s mining sector grew by 25.8% in 2011 and contributed 13% of the country’s GDP and more than 60% of its total earnings"

I haven't read of any mafia activity affecting public Companies in Zimbabwe because it isn't happening
