The only difference between what people call Traders and Investors is the way they manage their trades.
p.s. as far as the ATO is concerned I am both a Trader and an Investor. They can't even tell the difference. But what else would you expect from the ATO.

Traders get no CGT tax benefit unlike investors.

Regardless of if a trader holds for longer than 12 months or not.

your buy-sell trading frequency will dictate if the ATO class you as a trader or investor.
