Aside from paying $2000 for a used Apple 2e with twin single sided 128K floppy drives in 1984, a revelation I could have duel index's on my data base, alphabetical and numerical, along side the program, least we forget the 128k (upgraded) memory. Obliviously printing was necessary (catalogue) on a "state of the art" daisy wheel typewriter with a concentric interface, then on to a photocopier

Upgraded in 1985 to an IBM clone (thank you Taiwan) with 10 MB hard drive, and a 256kb of memory.

That's when my learning really began, bring on the ( AT) 286, with 512K memory and a 20MB hard drive.

1987,( feeling rich), 386 with 4MB memory expansion card, VGA graphics, 40 MB hard drive. and running DR DOS to get around the 32MB barrier.

Oh and memory cost $1000 a MB for all 8 chip and 9th for error correction as I recall.

My data base outgrew it, as I never deleted a transaction, I was running video librarys.

Ignorantly, I was trying analysis of customers, (now an art form), to such a point the Police requested "history" of various customers.

Anyway, long ago, $4ds is the next gen.

Now I am feeling like a dinosaur, been using PC's for close to 40 years.
