Correct. "the parties jointly own all intellectual property jointly created" this is a pretty standard clause that you find in many contracts. 4DS has 100% ownership of their patents - they have specifically addressed this at the AGM.
They also specifically said that they were not interested in licensing the tech. So even if you have an agreement to give someone a discounted price, doesn't mean that licensing is actually available. I don't think that WD can demand that they licence it to them. I mean they could just say they weren't in a position to licence it yet for instance.
Not that I have read through all the reams of posts here theorising about licence deals etc, but I'm not sure why people are even discussing it. The board has been pretty clear - not interested in licencing - the plan is to sell the company in 2021. Very simple.
