Why would they plaster this all over the place if they hadn't any know market to sell the tech to? Surely you wouldn't be stupid enough to first have a clear market fit (known, defined, addressable market) before anchoring yourself with this commitment, or were they

a - ignorant and nieve to think this existed without even a rudimentary market eval

b - misleading, knowing that in fact we don't know market needs enough, therefore no credible chance of selling

c - overly optimistic that this would emerge and thus possibly out of their depth in true understanding

d - market exists but we don't meet expectations of the potential customer so we classify as undefined market, giving wiggle room. Note this statement only came out after the urgent hgst meeting....odd don't you think?

or a combo. I think for them to put this in the announcement is intentional to act as a scapegoat or cover for something we are not privy to. WHY do it otherwise?

Yep it was put in for a reason. Most likely to prime shareholders for something..?

maybe that can be question at the AGM
