I think its easy to take what Wilbert said out of context.

The sentence before the 'near DRAM cost' was that the speed of 4DS memory cells matched or exceeded DRAM.

Then he said the cost is much cheaper than SRAM, near DRAM and more than NAND.

I think the operating envelope of the memory has increased, and cost is one variable of many in the overall equation.
This is the first time SRAM and 4DS have been explicitly linked - could it be that speeds are now so fast as to impact SRAM? (This is just a conjecture)

Contrary to what Tex thinks, I see this as good news. The user can choose the mix of speed, retention, endurance and cost.
i.e. 4DS is flexible.
