Yup.. What I'm deducing is that they tried it at the maximum cell size that would be considered SCM.
If they tried it at say 5nm and it failed, why didn't they say "we'll try it in a larger cell size" instead of saying "it's not suitable for SCM"?
Basic logic tells me they've tried it at the largest cell size that would be compatible with SCM and it failed to come to the party. That's all.

As for the down-ramping, I don't think that's a thing mate. To what end would anyone down-ramp this stock? You might see a troll here and there but I don't think you'll find anyone trying to get a financial gain from down-ramping.
The only people buying right now are serious punters with disposable cash. I don't think the DTers would even nibble on this right now, but who knows.
I can almost guarantee we'll not see past the last SPP as there will be a mass exodus at break even, unless we get some really good news.
