I think Dr W, is why we are here, he sorted the place out, ended the lifestyle research project it was becoming, remember Hash's mate wanted to keep experimenting.
Setup the path to platform lot's and bought the kit for testing, PL2 he made Dr Guido wear, and accepted responcibility for PL3.
No doubt his connections to Stanford helped solve the mask disaster.
No question he may have wanted to distance himself from PL4, as possibly lost confidence, but likely felt nothing more he could do.
It was PL4 success or bust.
He took a minimal salary, probably only took the job, as the tech was that exciting, never their for money, walked away from the Sales Bonus.
So he earned every option he is holding, to my mind he rescued the project, and I hope he gets a huge payday, because then we all will too.
