4DS - Anything but Charting, page-28436

Jock and Vinneh, too many people here are blinded by the " Imec wouldn't do it if they didn't have a buyer ....." mentality
The technology may have some excellent stats in a few areas, but that doesn't mean the product will fly out the door as some expect if and when you scale to 20nm
4DS does not have NVM, which was where it was supposedly heading
It may have something that fits between Dram and Flash, but who knows as there are many changes going on in these two domains as well
Why is it that people keep saying that flash is going nowhere, when there is already a noteable shift with new technologies that are either in place, or being developed to replace Flash
This shift is going to pick up the pace as scaling of new techs continues where Flash cannot go.
So if over the next 3-5years we see Flash being replaced with far faster, lower power, far greater endurance, retention 10years+, cheaper to produce etc etc ,where does 4DS fit within all this
The goalposts have changed often over the years with this product, but remember the rest of the tech market has not been sitting idly waiting for 4DS to bring a viable product to the market
