Exactly this. There's a reason for active-active or "simply" replicated systems, DCs & 3rd line of defence data vaults (of tape, hdd, sdd, or anything that holds data "indefinitely" without power).
The new AI opportunities are immense yet even if HGST were to retain & ran with a "storage only tune" option it seems they could realise huge market potential.
I'd be happy with "just" that bit.
Throw in AI, analogue, etc?
