The memory is the hottest part, in that the operating temperature is the highest in the GPU, but in hind site it is a little bit of a misleading statement as what we really should be talking about is the heat produced. I agree the gpu definitely produces more heat and has a much larger heat sink.
My point was that the memory does produce a reasonable proportion of the overall heat. GDDR6 can run up to 95 degrees. In my mine my memory sits at around 70-80 degrees with the upgraded thermal pads.
