Their main insight would be where they see the memory market heading, how a new tech slots in. Remember everyone has to work to common standards and protocols, so when you buy that new WD memory stick, you know it will interchange or work with the Micron ones you already have installed on the Intel motherboard, next to the Samsung SSD/HD. New tech may require new industry standards and WD would be on the working groups/review panels for the setting of those standards.
