Genuine question. Why do we not have a partnership deal already, with sequenced financial triggers based on ongoing development success?

Meaning if the tech is truly on the verge of being revolutionary for things like AI, yet there is still risk in getting to a useful measure like 20nm, wouldnt companoes want to try lock it in while also minimising their downside?

Eg. Partner up and inject 50mill into further development over a 12 to 24 month period, then if it hits certain parameters a full aquisition is triggered.

Partnering now would surely be the validation of the fundamentals of the tech, and benefits both parties.

Again this only makes sense if the tech is seen as material towards future product development and fundamentally sound.

So why have we not seen a partnering arrangement post the success of PL4??

This approach is common in biotechs for example, where a phased methodology is taken to develop promising molecules while minimising downside risk for big pharma.
