I’m guessing system architecture has changed a lot over the last few years, with AI chips now being where the growth and the big money is.
it used to be quite straight forward understanding how system memory and storage memory sat within a system, and some cache and perhaps ‘optane’ type memory systems could assist.
With AI becoming the big thing while 4ds is developing a new trope of memory, would we have shifted focus to how 4ds could directly benefit or be used within the AI cards. I’m assuming the AI cards are much much more complex than the old graphics cards in our computers, but of a similar concept. Some gpu/cpu type processors, with their own very very fast memory chips. And architecture to pass the data really quickly between the man in system and the ai ‘card’. How could 4ds be used directly on the AI cards? I assume not as a super fast sdram replacement, but back to the ‘optane’ model, ?
or would 4ds remain focused on a systems ram/scm subsystem, as unlikely to ever be a fully sdram replacement. I am assuming we cannot develop smaller than 20nm.
