It's an interesting point hey Mav, and one that's been raised many times over the years on here.
The big'uns spend so very much more on r&d (each and every year) than even an aggressive/fanciful one off 4DS buy price.
Working at 60nm was going to ensure we were snapped up by a giant's r&d budget. Nope. Working at 20nm? Working at 20nm, with a test platform? Working at 20nm, in production, in a device?
All good, in DM we trust (not).
