I get the challenge with today's share price and people's desire to see some punishment for where things are at...

But I'm struggling to recognise how removing the sales bonus pool:
a) achieves that goal; and
b) supports our collective ambition for them to sell the company for billions of dollars.

Dont get me wrong - I'm open to the idea, just need a little help getting to the same point or view. I'm a little stuck with this whole concept.

Here are my key questions:
1. How does removing the sales bonus pool keep them motivated as a team to move towards a sale of the whole company?
2. Wouldn't taking away the SBP shift their focus towards turning it into a revenue generating IP licencing company?
3. Why is it the best idea to use the removal of a future incentive as a punishment for previous issues?

My thoughts on each question:
1. If someone took my long term incentive away, I'd be looking for ways to either make it back OR I'd bail... Imagine losing Ting now because he doesn't get the big slice of the SBP!? Surely that is a risk we don't want to play with ?
2. To replace the lost SBP value, the best thing that team could aim for is to turn this into a dividend company (through all their shares and options, they would clean up over the long run). That means they become focussed on creating an IP licencing company. For it to reach the kind of value most shareholders would want, it would be several years after the end of this development roadmap for revenue to build and then the SP to climb and then dividends issued. Are shareholders really willing to wait that long?
3. This just feels like a tit for tat, and perhaps not well thought through on its effectiveness. What are specifically are people trying to encourage? What specifically are people seeking to discourage?
