Well the filamentary Reram uses different idea and physics: based on materials used between two metal plates and electricity passed between the two metal plates changes the resistance in that substrate. Easy peasy... The underlying problem with that it uses a LOT of power to excite 1 cell and if you overdose it with power will fail..or there is a high possibility(so there are serious limitations).Using different materials and manufacturing technics (imec-4DS) you can put a small charge of electricity on those metal plates with same effect as to pass serious electric current trough it:
So 4DS and the final successful iterations of the 300mm chips whitch can be replicated on any advanced production facility all around the world.
