I suspect this is exactly why they released the last announcement.
It was a 'non-news' news release. Did not tell us a single thing we didn't already know.

And i also suspect the company did this because they know that the ASX is a news hungry market (i know the video where JD said this). But they did not necessarily have blue sky news, so they gave us anything they could to let the faithful investor know that they're still there and that they want to kick the SP along a bit or at least not let it languish because I also suspect that they know a whole lot more than what they are able to tell us at the moment due to the non-disclosure agreement with imec, and them knowing this they must themselves believe the SP should be a great deal high than what it is.

Yeh - probably mistimed. They just had hopes and dreams and a shonky set of wafers at that time. Nothing convincing for the big investor. This time round they are further de-risked.
May be a better timed roadshow to get new investors on board.

Question is, when is it? Before or after it3 is completed?
