Oh how times have changed. Hardware and Information is so cheap these days, but the odds at winning when it comes to trading low cap speculative stocks have fallen substantially. When you do find yourself on a winner it pays to hold on. One other comment, everyone is a Trader! You open your positions with a buy trade and close them with a sell trade. The only difference between what people call Traders and Investors is the way they manage their trades.
p.s. as far as the ATO is concerned I am both a Trader and an Investor. They can't even tell the difference. But what else would you expect from the ATO.

your buy-sell trading frequency will dictate if the ATO class you as a trader or investor.
