Its cred through paid association. Yes, IMEC obviously won't take on joes chip co from his backyard in brisbane but he is unlikely to have the necessary funding anyway. Just because 4ds are making advances in chip and material science (worthy of IMEC fostering if paid enough) does not mean it in itself is of any commercial relevance.

Have you looked at how many companies go through IMEC and how many papers are produced about new tech. Do all of those go to become mutli billion-dollar techs? No. Does that mean science and development should not be explored? Of course not.

And yes I am hard to please when my investment dollars are dependent on it, and I hate to break it to you but it seems the general investment consensus aligns that at this point 4DS tech is not validated in any commercial sense therefore our share price is where it is.

So people here suggesting we just tell WD to go jump is completely ludicrous.

Put it this way, if we didn't have the funds, do you think IMEC would work with us, even at this 'promising' stage. No. We are a customer and that is it.
