You know the answer, probably better than almost everyone here, so lets skip quoting industry papers and jump to the point you're wanting to make.

You believe that a retention of "seconds to days" can still be used for SCM, thus the question so that it can be debated? So lets expand on that theory and explore this together.

Hypothetically, this memory IP is being used in a SCM device in:
a) a NAS device
b) Enterprise server architecture
c) a laptop

A natural disaster occurs and power is lost for multiple days, or Russia decides to bomb the power generators.. either/or. How does the SCM device prevent loss of data?

Or are you thinking more along the lines of continue to use SSDs (Which Samsung is now aiming at 430 layer NAND chips and 100TB SSD's) and simply replace the DRAM component with 4DS IP?
