As to the money printing question. Governments can print as much money as they like. In the US and in Oz all this funny money just gets capitalized in assets and mostly property. In OZ, effectively it gets buried underneath residential houses where it stays until there's a credit crisis and then it just all disappears into thin air. After a few years the cycle just beings again.
