Lets put it this way, say you wanted to buy a petrol station in the Rockies, but you knew there was a cavern under the petrol station full of gold veins that the dying owner told you with your last breath. would you go along to an auction for the petrol station and place a bid far above what anyone else would bid thinking to own it outright.
Probably not, you would just wait until the last bidder bid and then start your bidding.
