Stands to reason.
Demand for semi conductors isn't going to go away and can't be substituted. If anything demand is only going to increase - the solutions to many of the problems of our time require comprehensive data crunching and interconnectivity.
Fabs don't get built overnight - someone posted an article here about what it takes to set up a fab - setting up an industrial process in a sterile and dust free environment is not an easy thing.
