Apart from the fact this is meant to be a charting thread. and I feel bad for perpetuating it off topic, you're misunderstanding what 4DS is trying to achieve, that is storage class memory with the read/write speeds of DRAM. Meaning - when the chip switches off, the data is retained in the chip.
This has a number of advantages.
If you had device with RAM that didn't require power to retain the data on it you'd have a more energy efficient device.
You could have system memory and storage memory on one chip.
The data stored on a chip (files, programs etc) would be accessed as quickly as working data is currently stored in computer RAM.
This increases device speed, energy usage and consolidates components. Great for Internet of Things, miniaturisation of devices, portable devices. You look at the Blockchain space and there are companies like Cardano that are looking at ways to monetise the data that smart devices generate. So instead of you giving up the data about your car (location, speed, outside temp etc etc) for free in return for a service you can sell that same data to those companies who see value in it.
At the other end of the scale you have cloud storage - makes these giant buildings smaller, more energy efficient.
