this might be a good time to remember that in a rear end collision it is the rear ender that has 100% responsibility for the collision. Whether there is a high vehicle in front or not, it is by regulation that it is incumbent on a driver to travel at a safe distance from the vehicle in front. Said safe distance will vary depending on weather/road conditions and the local speed limit in force. Don't blame the awd's, its the tail gating twits that need banning.
There is no real argument, a tail end collision is not a safe thing to do, therefore the vehicle separation was not a safe distance.
