Same towing capacity and puts the power down better. Has less torque at 400nm vs. 420nm but same towing capacity. Also better trade in value in the longer term but higher purchase price I guess. Also has DAB radio standard, also the sat nav system is generally better overall in the BMW, but that's subjective.

Otherwise maybe a GLA200 Merc? That is obviously FWD though so not sure that fits what you are after.

Hi M34N

The X3 is too small inside ... the X5 with 2L is the ducks guts at the top end of my price range, but have been offered free servicing if I meet their corporate criteria ... so life cycle costing makes that competitive. The GLC is nice but I would have to wait till Jan 2017.

The X60 might be an attractive compromise?
