Agree 123enen. This is about about confirming results and reducing uncertainty as opposed to raising the bar on any existing result.
The more you increase the volume of a sample the more you can be certain that a test result from that sample is representative of the larger ore-body. Upscaling the size of samples for testing is not abnormal and would have been part of PLV's pre-feas met process anyway.
From memory, the met holes were designed to provide larger samples for this very purpose.
