The stress tests in Europe yielded approx 95% passing. Maybe this will release some of that sidelined money. Xstrata has the cash anyway, but it may provide other interested parties with access to sufficient funds. The longer this takes the more rivals Xstrata presumably will have.

Is this too simplistic an appreciation or not?

As for sp movement, the last 3-4 weeks has been very static with volumes traded at around 35-75% of daily averages and movements within a 55cent-59cent range. Would this be regarded as a 'Holding-Pattern', by analysts?
