Its always a mess out there but the economies keep chugging along. Unless there is a war between the developed countries or (US, EU, AU, UK and co), I don't see the world economy taking a hit. Decade on decade, there has been improvement in the US GDP for the last 60 or so years (min) and that isn't going to change without a major shift in the world dynamics. Protests in the US aren't going to derail their economy, China being China isn't going to change the world economy and Europe going 'broke' isn't going to sop the world economy chugging along either.
