    $5 won't stop malingering patients. It will, however, encourage malingering GPs to be even worse.

    Public health programs (Salk, penicillin, small pox, etc.) have cured the real diseases, and all discovered by poorly paid researches who are not allowed anywhere near patients. The GP juggernaut hides behind the veil of experts' mysticsim, and sucks most of the medical expenditure from the community, while doing very little for people who are seriously sick.

    The AMA will not even release population statistical info about their patients. This is not to ensure patients'confidences, but it is to hide their ineptitude.

    Example. Circa 1979 Californian doctors went on strike. The death rate fell slightly. It rose again just after they went back to work. This is still a constant source of interest for epidemiologists ... who are of course not allowed any where near patients.

    That is the sort of thing the AMA wants to cover up.
