your calcs make sense to me.

ie "So a 2:1 would mean for every 1 tonne of ore there will be 2 tonne of waste, not 3, Naughty,"

so for 5 mill tonnes there would be 2 x that in waste. 5mt ore and 10mt waste. Correct??...so to pile up 5 mt of ore you will need to dig up 15mt of the earth. 5 ore and 10 waste. ..isnt that what someone zaid?
