because they just keep making up more money out of thin air to pay the interest on their debts.
even a primary school student knows this is not sustainable and so far no one has come up with a way that all this debt can be paid back.
usa hasn't run a surplus since the 70's. arrogance pure and simple. stuff the rest of the world, we'll do what we want. now the rest are doing the same so when it finally implodes it won't just be the usa that cancels the debt and is the big winner.
