Price drops on low volume prior news when people dont want to sell but there are nervy investors involved, as it falls further they sell couple days later the news comes out and the price flies. Best example i saw was rockhopper prior sea lion discovery.

Price dropped every day for a week on no volume at all then boom! Price rose fom 33p to 55p in 2 hours when city got wind their rumour of oil discovery could be true then boom Rns goes in and share price flew.

Then every month tree shake after tree shake prior big announcements usually a few days before, look at BPC on aim exchange another tree shake going on there you could argue masked as a "big seller" its not its just scare tactics to accumulat stock before the news comes out
