Apache are cheapskates mate, they buy old dieing fields and run the platforms into the ground and spend as little as possible to keep the platforms going, similar to how INEOS run in the chemical industry. Buy old dieing industry and resurect it at minimum cost and maximise as much as they can the output until the chemical plant has had it, then they sell it on before they have to pay for the decommissioning.
