Hmm, interesting post indeed & thanks for sharing.

So we now know Tanzania to b a land of giant gas fields!!

As Soothsayer pointed out, the discovery by M&P is on mainland Africa, 50 km South of the Tanzania's capital but here's the juicy bit, "it sells the gas to the same pipeline that comes from Songo songo".

Here's 1 more common point, M&P used the Caroil-6 rig to drill its Mkuranga-1 discovery in Jan '07 & most probably will b going back to drill more for them.

I've mentioned earlier, the actual field size (1 TCF or 5 tcf) will most probably b ann'cd once they flow KN-1 and is independent of a flowtest result.

They would have already calculated this from the exisitng seismic data to work out the drainage area, thkness of the sands & its extent in the area, porosity & some other variables (from the logs).

Interesting stat that I picked up here,

M-1: 19 mmcfd @ 1465psi from 3/4" choke (18.34 actually)
SS-10: 44 mmcfd @ 1900 psi from 1" choke
KN-1: xx mmcfd @ xx00psi from 1" choke (most likely)
