why is there an expectation that we will know the results of the auction/tender on the 31st October?
Would it not take quite some time to reconcile the outcome?
I feel that people's expectation will create panic if we aren't advised of the result on the 31st. Even if the result, when it comes, is mind blowing. Too late them.
Imagine buyers buying xx amount of shares with the intention of selling a percentage on the 31st and then being free carried with the rest. The announcement doesn't come on the 31st and they end up selling the whole lot to an undesirable company (someone involved in a takeover for example)
Better to under promise and over deliver.
