What's to stop them putting in a bid? They would need to ask Lynas for the appropriate paperwork, details, and channels. Lynas should not be in any position to refuse this.
The whole process of selling the Crown deposit to Forge has been a closed backroom deal. To be seen to be an open process, they would HAVE to take counter offers, I would have thought.
in fact, in the Explanatory Memorandum, they state unequivocally that the sale to Forge is recommended "in the absence of any better offer' or words to that effect.
So - make a better offer. One or two in the shareholders' "action group" are already drumming up better offers if they can be put through.
