I suppose in Perth, one might only need $70K..... but lots of people have left WA because of unemployment. Banks won't look at you seriously if you don't have an income.... a stable income at that.
Even if you were born in the 70's, the opportunities that presented themselves in the 90's, early 2000's were considerably better relative to wages.
Sure, some young crew overspend on technology devices, want the best straight away..... cars, furniture, but overall, the price of houses relative to wages is a big problem for sure. IMO, prices have to come back to more realistic levels.... yes, and that means my house as well.
