re: spybot - amazing
i was about to write an off topic post, then i noticed your post on this software.
I'd been having heaps of trouble with damn spam advertising and pop ups appearing. Someone suggested i try spybot which is freeware...so i did...
Spybot detected that over 200 damn secret programs in my windows registry were tracking my web usage, opening pop ups (even while using hotcopper) and forth.
I couldnt believe it.
Spy bot deleted them all and also 'immunized' my system against receiving certain spam 'software' without my knowing again.
Great stuff...if anyone else is getting pop ups and so forth when surfing i would download this and give it a go...i even got a secret 'software' using hotcopper, called 'doubleclick'...which spybot detected

Oh and my internet and computer is a fair bit faster too now that all that cr@pp is gone.
Too bad it doesnt stop spam emails, does anyone know of any freeware that does stop email spam, if so, please tell US.

Note: I dont think SpyBot will get rid of a 'hijacker' called letssearch, which is a real pain!!! If you think you may have it, pres ctrl alt delete and it will be in the programs list as 'letssearch'. If so, goto www.doxdesk.com/parasite which will tell you how to remove it and other nasties manually!!!
