His latest brainwave is to index the aged pension by CPI rather than tie it to wages this would mean that it will be effectively cut by 50%

The government had proposed to index the Age Pension to inflation rates from July 2017, which would have seen income for retirees fall from 28 percent of what working-age Australians live on, to just 16 percent by 2055.

We all know that the CPI is another of those computer adjusted figures that the government uses to com up with a figure that they like rather than one that is true

So once again it is just a case of how much garbage they can try to get through into law before they are tossed out on their heads.
How a government can get it so wrong soooo quickly is beyond me, but they are still afraid to do the things that they should be doing
For-instance cancel one of those jet fighters that are never going to fly and that would fund the pension for the next 10 years?
