This theoretical doubling of knowledge is simply an opinion that you read somewhere. Easy to say, difficult to show.
So what? The "new" knowledge doesn't REPLACE the old, it augments it. The vast majority of "truth" two years ago is still accepted now. Very little would be "corrected". So a statement that was right a couple of years ago is still OK unless proven otherwise.
