Coopec, the tesla battery factory is estimated to cost $5 billion. They then need to source lithium and other rare earth materials to undertake production.
Elon Musk says its a huge gamble. If oil stays sub $75 I think that the odds of it coming off are very slim. The next owner of that factory might pay 20c in the dollar and make a go of it.
