Anyway, the irony of the situation is that high inflation/ deflation will eventually sting you in the exactly the same. If inflation is the course then put your reserves into gold then cash. If deflation is the course then put your wealth into cash then gold. You choose the percentage split.

Either way, each scenario is particularly nasty for assets in one way or another.
