Does anyone know if the FOB (Freight on Board) payment system has been waived for Chinese buyers. The system adopted by exporters ensured that the purchaser of coal (and other products for that matter) organised the shipping and payed for the coal before it was released from port in Australia. It has worked like this for the past 40 years of my involvement.
If this remains the case then I must reject the assertions by the BS media that $500m of Australian Coal is parked off Chinese Ports.............that coal originated in Australia but is Chinese owned. What purpose would this blockade serve?
Now getting onto boycotts on Australian products. I believe that two large Chinese owned meat processors are still operating in Australia and still exporting to China. I wonder also if China is still accepting coal from Yancoal, a majority Chinese owned Australian coal Company? Double standards ?
